The  department's main goals emphasize on:

1. Offering a Bachelor's degree of Arts in English Language, with concentrations in English Literature and Applied Linguistics for students seeking personal and professional careers in these domains.
2. Providing an academic environment that fosters critical thinking, innovation, and creativity.
3. Providing a solid foundation for instruction in the English language at International University of Kuwait that enables all students to handle their courses efficiently and effectively.

The English major students must complete all the following 120 credit hours  in order to complete their Bachelor of Arts degree in English as follows:

1. University Core Courses (General Education) 42 credit hours
2. College of Arts requirements 24 credit hours
3. Major Requirements (compulsory + Concentration) 48 credit hours
4. Free electives 6 credit hours

• Program Mission

The B.A. in Media program at the International University of Science and Technology aims to provide excellence in Media and mass communication teaching, scholarship, and encourage creative talents by providing innovative and creative environments.

• Degree Requirements

The Bachelor's degree in Media and mass communication studies concentrates on interpersonal communication, where students will gain knowledge of the interplay between communication and relationships on both micro and societal levels. At the micro-level, students will develop analytic and communication skills needed to understand the process of relationship development, maintenance, and deterioration. At the societal level, students will acquire critical reasoning skills needed to interpret images and messages about families and other small groups.

Students will be prepared for entry-level media and mass communication positions in organizations such as those allied with health care and human development or for advanced work in communication studies and other fields focusing on the analysis of human behavior.

This is done by providing students with modern science, social tools, and skills to deal with social phenomena, in an innovative environment that encourages leadership and creativity.
